Solar speakers at EcoGen 2011 will include:

Warwick Johnston

Warwick Johnston is the Manager of SunWiz, a solar consultancy which counsels companies on solar energy strategies. Warwick holds a Masters in Renewable Energy, and has designed three major award-winning building integrated photovoltaic (PV) projects, including the Gold Coast’s Metricon Stadium.

Warwick has long been a supporter of the PV industry, and holds positions on the PV Directorate of the Clean Energy Council, and the Rapid Response Team of the Australian PV Association. He is also the Vice President of the Solar Energy Industries Association of Australia.

Muriel Watt

IT Power Australia Project Manager Dr Muriel Watt has been active in the industry since 1980, working on energy-related matters for government energy agencies, private companies and universities.

Muriel’s work has a strong focus on renewable energy research, development, technologies deployment and policies. Before being appointed as Project Manager at IT Power, Dr Watt was a Senior Lecturer for the School of Photovoltaics and Renewable Energy Engineering at the University of New South Wales, a role she retains on a part-time basis.

Other positions held by Muriel include Chair of the Australian PV Association, Australian representative on the Executive Committee of the International Energy Agency Photovoltaics Power Systems Program, and member of the Australian Solar Institute Research Advisory Committee.

Ric Brazzale

Ric Brazzale, Director of Green Energy Trading and Green Energy Markets, was one of the speaker highlights at EcoGen 2010 Conference and Exhibition.

Ric specialises in commercial issues affecting the sustainable energy industry, incorporating solar energy, renewable power generation and energy efficiency.

In 2011, Mr Brazzale will be at EcoGen to present on trends and forecasts for the renewable energy market in Australia. Prior to his current role, Ric was the Executive Director of the Business Council for Sustainable Energy (now the Clean Energy Council).

Grant Behrendorff

Grant Behrendorff will bring his experience as a senior professional engineering technologist, and his specialist knowledge in renewable energy systems and energy efficiency program development and implementation, to EcoGen 2011.

Grant, who is a Director at Evolve Energy Pty Ltd, holds a Bachelor of Technology (Electrical and Electronic Engineering) from the University of Southern Queensland and a current trade qualification as an electrical fitter/mechanic.
