Industry members gathered for a meeting on the tendering process for the development of up to 40 MW of large-scale solar generation capacity in the Australian Capital Territory, as determined in the Electricity Feed-in (Large-scale Renewable Energy Generation) Feed-in Tariff Capacity Release Determination 2012.

Australian Solar Energy Society Chief Executive John Grimes commended the Australian Capital Territory Government for moving quickly towards the tender process and project deployment.

“The State Government obviously understands the huge advantages large-scale solar offers in reduced energy costs and energy security,” said Mr Grimes.

“The global solar industry is seeing record growth with governments moving fast to deploy large-scale solar, and it is great to see this now happening in Australia,” continued Mr Grimes.
