The $1.6 billion plant, to be located in Tuckanarra in the mid-west region of Western Australia, will involve the construction of a 1 km-high solar updraft tower, and will be placed at a site expanding 127,000 hectares.
The technology to be used at the site involves the heating of air via collector panels, which is then sucked through a central vertical cylindrical tube (in this instance the 1 km-high solar updraft tower) to drive turbines for electricity generation.
